How to Use an Excavator on Steep Slopes and Dirt?

First, uphill and downhill
1) When driving down a steep slope, use a walking joystick and a throttle joystick to keep the driving speed low. When driving upward or downward on slopes exceeding 15 degrees, the angle between the arm and the boom should be 90 ~ 110 degrees, the distance from the back of the bucket to the ground is 20 ~ 30cm, and the engine speed is reduced.
2) If braking is required when going downhill, put the walking joystick in the neutral position so that the brake will automatically work.
3) When walking on an uphill slope, if the track shoe slips, in addition to relying on the driving force of the track shoe to drive uphill, the pulling force of the stick should be used to help the machine go uphill.
4) If the engine goes off when going uphill, you can move the walking joystick to the neutral position, lower the bucket to the ground, stop the machine, and then start the engine.
5) The engine is turned off on the slope, and the turning operation is prohibited to prevent the superstructure from turning under its own weight.
6) If the machine is parked on a slope, do not open the cab door. This will easily cause sudden changes in operating force. The cab door should always be closed.
7) When walking on a slope, do not change the walking direction, otherwise it will cause the machine to tip over or slip. If you must change direction on a slope, you should operate on a gentler, firmer slope.
8) Avoid crossing slopes as this may cause the machine to slip.
9) When working on a slope, do not turn it, because it is easy to cause the machine to tip over and slip because it is out of balance. Rotate and operate the boom carefully at low speeds.
Working in muddy water and soft ground
1) If the riverbed is flat and the water flow is slow, the operating depth in the water should be below the centerline of the sprocket. If the river bed is in poor condition and the water speed is fast, you must pay attention not to let water or sand and stone invade the slewing support mechanism, slewing pinion, central slewing joint, etc. If water or sand and stone invade the slewing bearing, slewing pinion, large ring gear and central slewing joint, the grease or slewing bearing should be replaced immediately, and the operation should be suspended and repaired in time.
2) When working on soft ground, the ground may fall down little by little. Pay attention to the lower part of the machine when working.
3) When working on soft ground, care should be taken not to exceed the depth of the machine's depression.
4) When the unilateral track is caught in muddy water, you can use the boom, stick and bucket to lift the track, and then pad the board or log to let the machine out. If necessary, also place a wooden board under the back of the shovel. When using a working device to lift the machine, the included angle between the boom and the stick should be 90 ~ 110 degrees, and the bottom of the bucket should always be in contact with the muddy ground.
5) When both sides of the track are sinking in muddy water, lay the planks in the above way, anchor the bucket in the ground (the bucket teeth are inserted into the ground), then pull the bucket back and set the walking joystick at the same time. In the forward position, pull out the Excavator.

6) If the machine is trapped in muddy water and cannot be separated by its own strength, a steel cable with sufficient strength should be firmly tied to the walking frame of the body, and a thick wooden board should be placed between the steel cable and the walking frame to avoid damage to the steel Rope and body, and then drag up with another machine. The holes on the walking frame are used to pull light objects. Do not use it to pull heavy objects, otherwise the holes will break and cause danger.
7) When working in muddy water, if the connecting pin of the working device is immersed in water, add grease after each completion. For heavy-duty operation or deep excavation operation, the working device must be continuously greased before each operation. After each application of grease, operate the boom, stick, and bucket several times, and then add more grease until the old grease is squeezed out.
